Professional advice and tools

After reading this book and comparing it with my own consulting experience, I can describe this book as a mirror. If you are in consulting, you will find professional advice and tools. If you are owner of business, you will find best described scheme about how consulting work. If you are a scientist, you will find problems for research.

In consulting, the specialist and his client are always on separate shores separated by an abyss - problems. The specialist pays attention only to specific knowledge, and the client is only concerned with the problem. Usually the communication between them is like a cry. Nobody listen - only monologues. This book is a bridge through which they can meet each other.

The author also briefly explores the issues of decision making, payment and signing of contracts.

I am in the profession of management consulting and am heavily involved in the governance of the profession. I found this book to be very engaging and helpful. The author shares his lifetime of experience on how he successfully approached the profession. That would be enough, but he also shares many useful tools that are helpful in management consulting engagements. If you are serious about being a great management consultant, you must read this book and keep a copy on your shelf.
